Tuesday, August 14th, 2007: It took the San Francisco team doctor a while to realize it, but second baseman Reggie Jefferson won't simply play through a herniated disc after he got hurt colliding with a player at a base in today's Braves-Giants game. At first, it looked like Jefferson might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 2 weeks.

To date Jefferson has chalked up a .307 average with 16 home runs, driven in 54 runs and scored 66 times.
